1kings 19:18
“Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.”
Whatever anyone becomes in life is not without God being the Mastermind. At times God may choose to promote and use an individual mightily and achieve special purposes for God, it will be an error for such fellow to arrogate the feat to themselves or suppose that they are the best or the only person that have the capacity to do such.
Elijah, a great man of God got to a point in his life that he said to God that he was the only person standing up for God in the whole nation, God responded to him that there are at least seven thousand other people that He could pick and use for the same purpose. Regardless of who or what we are, humility is what God expects from us, it is clear that whenever pride enters into the mind of a man, he becomes repulsive to God, in James 4:6 says ”But he continues to pour out more and more grace upon us. For it says, “God resists you when you are proud but continually pours out grace when you are humble.”
To be proud is to be in direct antagonism with God, it is sharing or claiming His glory, He will not allow that happen. There are many examples of such people, they ended up not going farther than where they were when they make the boast. The fact that there are another 7000 men waiting on the flanks to take over from you suggests that no man is indispensable to God. When Eli messed up, he was substituted with Samuel, in the case of king Saul, David took his place, Judas was replaced with Paul, even the fire brand Elijah was replaced with Elisha. From experience, God’s substitutes are usually lesser in the eyes of men to the ones being substituted for, however they always go on to achieve far greater feats than their predecessors. You are just the 1 on 7001, learn humility so that you can continue to be the one, pride and arrogance are sin that cuts a person short and ends their story.
Ps.149:4
”For he enjoys his faithful lovers. He adorns the humble with his beauty, and he loves
to give them victory.“
