Eccl. 9:10
”Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.“
Many people have no idea that everything bar one, that is expensive have an alternative or substitute. The only exception is Time, it is the most expensive of all things, yet it has no alternative. Aside from that, it is about the only thing that everyone have in equal measure. Twenty four hours in UK is the same in Papua New Guinea, Somalia and Pakistan, Ten hours to Jeff Bezos is the same to Joe Blogs. The difference is how each one manage their own time. John 9:4 ”While I am with you, it is daytime and we must do the works of God who sent me while the light shines. For there is coming a dark night when no one will be able to work.“ Jesus was conscious of the time He had to achieve His goal while on earth, and would not allow any manner of distraction, for every person, time will soon come when it will be impossible to do anything anymore. There are times we look at our achievements and we become satisfied and slow down, that was the manner of Joshua, but God rebuked him sharply Josh. 13:1…. You are now an old man, yet the assignment has not been fulfilled, you have wasted time. ”Many years passed, and Joshua was a very old man. One day, Yahweh spoke to him: “Although you have reached a ripe old age, a great deal of land remains for
you to conquer.“
Brethren, how are you managing your time, what do you do with your “free” time? I have heard people say “ I am killing time”, unfortunately for them, no one can kill time, the correct phrase is “I am wasting my life away”. It is instructive to note that, Time is life, every minute of time that ticks away is the life of an individual ticking away.
“Tick, tick says the clock, what you have to do, do quick”, is a rhyme we learned early on in life, and a statement cannot be truer than that. The management of time, is the key to success or otherwise, a person who spends their time watching TV or on social media, cannot achieve the same level of knowledge or expertise nor success as the one who spend their time deepening their knowledge and developing their expertise.
The greatest asset you have is time, if well managed, otherwise, it will be your greatest adversary. Time waits for no one, it did not wait even for Jesus!
Stop wasting Time, or rather, stop wasting your life away.
